How this forecast works
Snow Maps blends four global weather models and works out the rain/snow line hour by hour, then calculates snowfall separately at the base (1660 m), mid-mountain (2195 m) and summit (2730 m) of Banff Sunshine. Colder, higher terrain gets a lighter, deeper snow ratio. The range shows how far the individual models disagree: a wide range means low confidence.
