Why Trust Snow Maps?
Raw model data comes from the world's major forecast centres via Open-Meteo. Global models smooth mountains into low hills, so their own snowfall numbers tend to be too low up high and too high down low. We use each model's freezing level and temperature to work out, hour by hour, whether it is snowing or raining at each elevation and how deep that snow will stack. Where the models disagree, every resort page shows the range so you can judge the confidence yourself.
